When we remodeled a bathroom the vanity gave us a ridiculous time. First, the bathroom had a strange width, about 35.5 inches. (This is a downstairs bathroom so it is just the toilet and vanity). We didn't want a pedestal sink or sink that was around 24 inches wide because that would leave small gaps on either side.

All the full size vanity tops are about 36 inches. So the cabinet barely fit in, but the worst was the sink didn't fit since it was 36 inches and the walls were 35.5. inches. I had to carve out about a 1/4 inch on each of the drywall sides so the sink could fit. That was a pain and messy.

Also on that stupid sink, one of the predrilled holes was too narrow for the faucet handle so I had to sand it down which wasn't easy either. You expect the faucet fixture to fit through easily but of course it is never that easy.
