The controversy shouldn't revolve around Cris Carter, but rather the NFL, who sponsored the event, and viewed the message as being solid enough to put up a video on their web site. We all know that the NFL doesn't care about their players' legal infractions directly, but only about the associated bad PR. Fair enough. But how stupid do they have to be to taunt the public with that fact?

We constantly hear about how the NFL influences children as well as all the lower levels of the sport.
I think some are forgetting that the NFL just sent this message to those same children looking up to the NFL players.
