I agree, I can understand why people would root for Walt and can't fault them, but am surprised about how many people do. I stopped rooting for him several seasons in. Oh, hell yes. No doubt about it.
Jesse's not a choir boy, but he is full of angst over the bad things he has been a part of. Everybody, even Vince Gilligan, acknowledges that Jesse is the moral compass of the show. His flaws make it easy to root for him because you can tell that deep down inside he wants to do the right thing.
