Well my first impression was one thing they did wrong was keep telling the guy to get on his back when they meant stomach. But that’s easy to do under that kind of stress. However after watching a breakdown of the video by Gracie Jiu-Jitsu experts they made a very valid point. We in LE rush to put people on their stomachs to handcuff them. But that allows a table platform to occur if they are combative (knees and hands). That allows for a strong fighting base. While it wasn’t their fault (that’s gow we have all been trained) it’s definitely food for thought.
The second was the flagging of Corporal Kelly by Trooper Seiple at the drivers rear of the suspect vehicle. Could have ended up much worse (blue on blue) but thankfully that was avoided.
