Question: How did Notre Dame do in years 4 and 5 of Charlie Weis's tenure?
Answer: He took a legendary program (11 national championships) and dragged it into the dumpster. His best years were his first 2 years when he was starting players he had not recruited. When his recruits got significant playing time, he turned Notre Dame into a losing program. He had losing record his last 2 seasons, and I'm not even counting the 3-9 debacle of his 3rd season. 3-9 at Notre ****ing Dame?
Weis was actually a far worse hire than Turner Gill. It's nice that Sheahon Zenger faced that fact and got rid of him. Giving Weis 5 years to prove once again that he can't coach would be even more of a disaster than hiring him in the first place.
