I first want to say that the last lap was probably one of the most exciting last laps I can remember at a race since Ricky Craven v. Kurt Busch 15 years ago. I was glad to actually catch it live.
That said, there is something inherently wrong with this racing when the only real racing happens in the last 2.5 miles of a 500 mile race.
The leader has such and advantage and it's really more evident on the cookie cutters where the average lead seems to exceed 2-3 seconds.
Glad that Nascar got their media bump due to the finish...I worry about their staying power as a national sport now a days.
