Back in the stone age, there was a truckstop diner at the corner of US 40 highway and Noland Road in Independence. It was called the Hawthorne Cafe. It was open all night. Biscuits and Gravy or huge home made cinnamon rolls at 4am after being out all night partying like a madman; Hank Williams and George Jones on the jukebox. It was an awesome, awesome place. There's a Ruby Tuesday's in a strip mall there now. Those kinds of all night diners are too few and far between these days.
