We are indeed working on a 501C3, but, the main purpose for establishing a 501C3 would be to legitimize ourselves as a non-profit organization. There will be a time where we will accept donations, however, we will always be more interested in establishing connections over contributions. We would always prefer to find someone who is interested in supporting and spreading the word about our cause as opposed a person who would donate five dollars and walk away forever.
Also, the more we talk about our mission, the higher the odds that someone will hear about it and know how to make a difference. For example, our project was just discovered by an individual heavily involved in Nepalseeds, or, one of the largest non profit organizations currently in Nepal. That connection was not established through a cash donation, but because individuals were spreading the word about our project.
