Radio exists because of advertising. Advertisers know their market and attempt to sell their products to their target audience. That's why you'll hear different advertising on Classic Rock stations than you will on "Pop" music stations.
Furthermore, there is no direct link between album sales, concert tickets and radio. I used to see songs in heavy rotation in which you'd think the artist sold 10 million records when in fact, they'd not even hit 200,000.
But the bottom line in terms of Aerosmith is that the heyday of that music is long over. Even if Aerosmith put out a record that was better than Toys (which is impossible, especially since they stopped writing their own songs more than 30 years ago), no one would care.

Got to ask is it true that most media (not just radio stations-tv,mags,NP) are owned by very few (I mean 10-20 companies almost worldwide not just US now).
I have always been told that by friends in music, small bands since around the 90's. No number mentioned back then but that was b4 the internet etc.
