The only saving grace for the Mozgov deal (and really, there isn't one), is that at least it isn't a max deal so it's not tied to the cap. DeRozan's deal will go up with the cap, so will anybody else that gets a max contract (and I think there's a 'mini-max' that's also tied).
So Mozgov's deal, as frighteningly shitty as it is now, will get slightly less shitty next year when the cap goes up by about 20% and then slightly less shitty the year after that before it can be traded away as an expiring in year 4.
It's a bad bad BAD ****ing deal, but when the smoke clears, there will be worse given out over the next year or two.
