Was this guy an idiot, especially considering where he plays, and the timing of what he said? Absolutely. But ask yourself this - why did he apologize? Was it because he suddenly feels terrible about offending a bunch of queers, or because he is in fear of losing his extremely well-paying job? There is nothing on earth quite so disingenuous as a forced celebrity apology. He thinks what he thinks, right or wrong. If anything, all this crap he's having to endure will probably just make it worse.
Is that really the guy who should be manning the phones when some cross-dressing 13 year old calls the suicide hotline? Or publicly showing up at events when everybody with the functional brain knows exactly why he's there and why he doing it? The level of overkill here is absolutely ridiculous.
