Most of the seafood in the better grocery stores here are flown in within a day or two of catch. It's not hours fresh, but pretty close. Hy-Vee's seafood is always pretty damn good. Shrimp and King Crab legs are especially good there.
Our beef and pork are much better here than you'll get in California or Florida.
