You seem to be confused. KU said they may or may not continue it based on what they decide is best for their own interests. Since you don't know his actual quote, I've posted it here for you to read:
“If we play them moving forward, it’ll be strictly because we think it’s best for our basketball program,” Self said. “Not because of what anybody else feels.”
He was asked to elaborate.
