There's another sci-fi show I saw... "The Cape", or something like that? Is that a midseason replacement? That looked promising from the online trailer.

Rookie Blue is a really strong summer show. I kinda hope they pick it up for a prime time seasonal thing.
I might check out Undercovers, for the reasons you stated.
