After Jack opened the game with a three and out, Marcus Allen fumbled on the Chiefs second snap, leading to a Colts field goal.
Allen atoned for his mistake, though, with a glorious play on his next handoff:
ChiefS! The Chiefs would find little success elsewhere on offense in the first half, however. The offensive line was, again, dreadful.
The Chiefs defense was dominating, however. The score was 10-9 at half, and an exchange of field goals made it 13-12 entering the fourth. That was when the Chiefs got their biggest play of the game.
Could KC close it out? Montana called an audible on second and 8 from the 10 and the result was...amusing.
Whatever works. After the safety, Allen again turned in a huge play for KC, and they seemingly had the game in hand.
Ahead 22-12, the Chiefs had outgained Indianapolis 340-167 at this point. Jack drove the Colts to midfield with 1:37 on the ensuing possession though, and on third and 6, the game suddenly changed.
The huge completion led to a Colts TD. Down 22-19, the Colts went for the onside kick.
OH MY ****ING GOD JJ BIRDEN YOU SACK OF SHIT.
OH MY ****ING GOD DEFENSE YOU SACK OF SHIT.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
The Chiefs fall to 2-5. Marcus Allen ran for 185 yards and 2 TD, Joe Montana was an efficient 17 of 27 for 219 yards and no interceptions, and the Chiefs had their best offensive day of the season....but it was all. for. naught.
Jack ****ing Trudeau.
