It almost seems like his impatience and indifference is coming through the Dr.

And there doesn't seem to be much continuity between eps. 1 ep and his cute companion is wanting to leave and she hates the Dr. The next ep she pretty much changes her mind for no reason other than "I'm addicted to adventure."
