If you're choosing between the Remington and the Mossberg, the biggest difference will be the location of the safety. For the Remmy, its on the trigger guard. And on the Mossy, its up by the thumb, which will make it easier for a lefty to access. If you or your wife/gf are a lefty, I'd go with the Mossy. Otherwise, just go to the store and fondle both of them and see which one you like best.  |

I'm searching google now for the police 870. Be nice to find one in the wood stock instead of synthetic. Guess i'm old school in that way!
Might even look for a police trade in on buds guns site or others. Bet those are beat up pretty good though.
