Well if you didn't like the ending then the after-credits scene probably won't change much. Personally I think an open-ended conclusion is refreshing from time to time. Sometimes less is more.

Anyway, the scene was very short. Just showed the alpha wolf laying on the ground breathing heavily, clearly dying. You could see Liam Neesons head lying on top of it, unmoving.

Its unclear whether or not he died, but like I said, it made him more badass. Also if you remember early in the film he had mentioned killing the alpha might get the wolves to stop attacking them. I like to think he lived.

EDIT: Maybe he's still in the woods living as the "wolfman" :-P
