If it the break were somewhere else, good blood flow would increase healing and decrease the time for return. This time frame is one of the longest for this type of injury, which suggests it is in an area with poor blood flow and thus greater healing time. Greater healing time is bad because the longer the healing, the greater the chances of a complication.

I do not wish injuries on anyone (although I made an exception for Elway because he was such an arrogant SOB) and James is no exception. That said, this injury really makes it unlikely for LA to make a good start to the season. They generally don’t but they will have a harder time now.

James should be good by late season and playoffs, which is good.
He’ll be back by the end of the year, but you have to question his effectiveness at that point. Possible reinjury, not being in game shape, being a step slow, etc.

We wouldn’t feel good about this if it was one of our players.
