When I read this, I could picture myself with a delicious moist piece of cake and an ice cold glass of milk. No matter how old you are, it still tastes great! 
9. Nights like tonight where the game is pretty much in the bag by halftime are rare indeed, especially after the trauma from our playoff collapse vs. the Tits last year. I can’t remember the exact stat, but we had lost something like six in a row to the Bengals, so we definitely owed them some payback. We got that and then some. Also I saw a stat where Marvin Lewis was something like 1-9 in National Night Games during his Bengals coaching career.
Bengals were one of those teams that always give us fits the random times we play them. I was worried that AJ Green was going to go off but we did a real good job and he had a few drops that helped. Dalton really isn't that good and he missed quite a few. We also had good pressure for most of the game, something we have lacked in most games. We bitched slapped them tonight! 
8 Before the game, the lovely Mrs. B goes to the ladies room then goes and get herself a coke for the game. I wait for her by “the trophy.” That’s the case that has our one and only Super Bowl trophy at the entrance to section 119 where we sit. Tonight as I waited for Mrs. B, I just played fly on the wall and watched the fans pass the trophy. Some just reached out and touched or tapped the glass. Others stopped for a selfie with it. One guy kissed the glass….yikes, a window licker! Anyway, over and over the fans keep saying “someday we’ll have another one of those.” Man, it’s been 50 years. And I don’t want to be a Red Kool Aid Drinker, but barring a catastrophic injury to Mahomes, I think we have a realistic shot at getting there and winning there sometime in the next three years. I really believe that.
I really believe we can make it to the Super Bowl for the first time since Joe Montana also! I also believe that we can be down by 20 points and Mahomes can bring this team back, something no one else could do in my opinion not even Montana as he was at the end of his career.
2. Andy got his 200th win, and that’s a major accomplishment. After the game he was aw shucks about it, but that’s a very big deal. He’ll still need to win some hardware to make it to Canton. He’s been there once, which was one more time than Marty, but it sure would be nice to see a Chiefs coach other than Stram get some love from the Hall. Andy has a shot.
Andy was all smiles after the game and really enjoyed this as much as any Chiefs victory I've seen. He is DUE as are the Chiefs!
1. As I’ve said several times already this year, “Whatta Great Night to be a Chiefs Fan!” Please savor this and enjoy the ride, because this doesn’t happen very often. The sad thing about the NFL is once the playoffs start, its single elimination. Many times the best team does not end the year on top. But we have a very good chance this year as our offense is WAY ahead of schedule, and is Greatest Show on Turf good. The end of my night was really great as I caught my first souvenir of the year -a glove from Kareem Hunt, pic attached. And now we focus on the Donks who have had three extra days to prepare for us, but the Donks ain’t the Pats, and I want to beat them as bad or worse than the thumping we laid down tonight. I just hope there’s no complacency or hangover from this one. We need to beat the Donks and beat them bad. Enjoy this tonight, then on Monday, it’s back to work my friends….back…to…work.
I'm enjoying this for sure because after all the beat downs, horrible seasons, miserable one-and-out playoff losses including having home field throughout the playoffs, we deserve this as much as any team in the NFL with few exceptions.
The Christmas Night Denver game I went to with you, the young guy next to me got like 4 souvenirs from players and staff. Glad to see you pick up one for a change!
I can see us SPANKING the Donkeys in our place. I'll be thinking of you next week and jealous of not being there. It should be LOUD and I'm going to try and have a meet up next week here in Phoenix/Scottsdale area. |
Thanks for staying up late as it's hard to write much when your team plays to damn near perfection.
Kelce had a quiet game but he turned a few short catches into nice long gains, something he is one of the best at. He is also always doing his best on blocking assignments and never bitches, a sign of growing maturity. I think he sees the big prize at the end of the rainbow as opposed to thinking about his stats or getting stupid penalties. He really has turned himself around this year. Never even close to a bonehead play, something he isn't getting credit for.
Hunt is really something special and even Watkins and Demetrius Harris got in on the act.
Shocked Tyreek dropped one and glad he dropped it when it really didn't matter as opposed to when it counts.
Our Oline and Devey did a great job, especially Fisher.
Scandrick had a defensive hold on the first series and he got away with it, allowing a 3 and out.
Overall it was a really great performance on both sides of the ball for a change and seeing Ron Parker scoring a pick 6 on a pretty good INT was icing on the cake.
