The first couple days of an actual conflict would be bad. Most of Seoul would be destroyed as would a lot of the US forces stationed in S Korea. The Paladins and air power would remove some of the artillery threat but the North would overrun the South in pretty quick fashion. Of course we would come in and beat them back but it would be a bloody affair.
But this is all to intimidate the new leader in the South and get more aid from the US.
