I do love the way the same crowd that loves Kim rushed to act like VanLeer was an underrated stud based on his play against the weak sisters (same with Puryear and Phillips).

All three players have major warts that show up as soon as you play legit competition.
We talked about this last year, but he did have no one else on that team last year and I didn't see him play his junior year when Pacific had more talent around him apparently. But Pacific didn't keep it close against a mediocre Glendale team and then followed it up getting dirt rolled by a very good Nixa squad.

Couple this with what my good friend says from the perspective of an assistant HS coach (yeah, that's not saying much but still) that he's not a D-1 ball player and didn't look the part from my perspective of a bird cage liner sports writer.
