It's usually just kid's visions change for some stupid reason, a friend,team's logo, etc. In this case, a friend that moved away back to Louisville where the boy says he wants to go and hang out with him again.

I have another 4 years to change his mind, that friend is living a hard life now and separation may come easily or could draw him near.
