Because like any format country thrives on new music. New music sells now. Old music sold then. It's simple economics. The people who buy old music have already bought it for the most part. Kids/young adults don't buy old music except for a few of us. So there's no money to be made in it. Every business has to make money now to survive including radio.

We have features for older country and they're very popular. Try to make a full time living doing that. Today is no different than it's ever been.
