I doubt Robinson would have stayed if he didn't have the family issues. At least in my opinion he would have been dumb to stay. He was a top 5 pick, you can't pass that up.
As for Self and his comment on the NBA, I appreciate the fact that he didn't say never. I think that's what a lot of Jayhawks were mad at Roy for. At least if Bill is tempted to leave no one can point back and say, "but you said never!"

I agree that Robinson should have went. But goddamn he was fun to watch.
Yeah, I didn't read too much into what Bill said. The landscape changes soooo much over time, it's not outside the realm of possibility that he may not want to be here anymore. I think the probability is that he will retire here, but nothing is set in stone forever.
And yeah, I think that's why most most hawk fans were pissed when Roy bolted. If he'd have treated the whole thing with a little more professionalism it would have been taken better, but he had to turn on the water works and make a big deal about it and looked like an ass when he bolted.
