I would be surprised if Rich Hill commands the same type of package Cueto did, but those trade deadline deals are tough to predict.
Re: Gordon, his slow start this year is concerning, but there also is a lot of time left on that deal to be blasting it as an awful deal. From a PR perspective internally and externally, it had value.
I still believe he'll produce enough to be a cost neutral guy at the end of it all, personally.
Re: Zobrist, that decision wasn't just about money, it was about where he wanted to play and for whom.
He took less money than others offered to sign in Chicago, so KC offering more years or dollars might not have made any difference.
My biggest issue with him is that KC uses Alex Gordon in a position in the lineup that doesn't maximize his skills. His OBP ability and base running are Gordon's two biggest strengths, and they're both wasted hitting 6th. KC would be better off hitting Gordon in front of Cain/Hosmer/etc.
