That kid taught me once and for all that K/AB and K/BB rates are among the single most important indicators of future success for a young minor leaguer. Absolutely nothing in that kid's profile suggested he would be anything less than a good MLer and he had as good a chance as anyone to be a legitimate star.
And instead he is just hot garbage because he never learned the strike zone. Now he can't even hit for power anymore because he's just buried in between his own ears.
There are worse guys to have in your minor league system as organizational depth; afterall he does have some ability. But he's a great lesson for the prospect followers - very very few people can have Vladdy's approach at the plate. Trust them at your own peril.
