Try this... plug it in overnight (or anything around 8 hours) then hold power and press home(center) button 10 times OR it could be vice versa... hold the home button and press the power button rapidly about 10 times Let us know if there is any response. This may totally reset it though, not sure, so expect to lose data...

Left it plugged in overnight, using the HP charging cord that came with the device. Unplugged and tried every button combination imaginable. Never blinked once. Dead as can be.
