Running zombies in the movie is stupid. If they match the book, it would have been great.
The book goes into detail about how man's weapons just don't carry the "shock and awe" factor with the zombies, and how they just keep coming when a human soldier would try to retreat in the face of such evisceration. That's why humans nearly lost the war in the early days.

I guess the 28 Days Later version of the zombie plays better on the big screen?
