Finale was the most watched ep of the season, sort of ending on a high note viewer wise for what was already the most-watched drama in basic cable history. More than 6 million viewers for the first showing and more than 8 million for the night.

Unfortunately I think the Walking Dead will suffer for the same reason Battlestar Galactica did: extended time between seasons utterly destroyed the ratings for BSG.
