you still haven't given any real reason why they wouldn't negotiate
'we didn't hear about it' isn't a reason
only reasons i can think of are:
1. back is really a problem
2. high money demands
3. money demands don't match Albert's skill in their opinion
either way they had to talk to Albert ... at least some
