The story of the game: down 7-3, Deion Sanders makes a huge interception to stop Buffalo in the red zone. On the very next play, Joe Montana hits Davis deep for a TD.
From there it's back and forth with the Chiefs mixing pass and run and Kelly destroying the Chiefs secondary but not getting touchdowns. One huge run from Thurman Thomas and a pass to the TE gets Buffalo a 17-10 lead before Montana ties it right back up.
Tied at 17, the Bills elect to go for a 57-yard field goal, which is horribly missed. The Chiefs take the ball and get inside the red zone, but Montana horribly misses a wide open receiver on third down, settling for a FG. Then Buffalo mounts a drive, which gets inside the 20 but is stopped INCHES short on a key third down.
It's 20 all with 90 seconds left and Montana works his magic before Allen caps it.
The Chiefs face Dallas in the Super Bowl!
The play of the season, keeping the Chiefs in the game early:
Montana: 18-29, 237 yards, 1 TD
Allen: 21 carries, 151 yards, 2 TD
Davis: 8 catches, 136 yards
Big ups to the Chiefs offensive line, which held Buffalo without a sack.
The only down for Kansas City is Mark Collins tore knee cartilage and will have to miss the Super Bowl.
