This has been said before. He was just thrust into his first battle with non humans. don't you think there would be a learning curve as to how to handle the situation? Don't you think it is possible that as a n00b to saving the world, he wasn't thinking straight at times?

If this were real life you would be one of those damn blowhards blaming him for all the destruction rather than thanking him for saving our world.
