I just skimmed it but did catch this part. The author is exactly backwards here: if anything, the Big 12 model is more "NFL like" in that there's far more parity. Anyone can win a given game. Sagarin showed all year that the Big 12 = SEC in overall rating with a much different distribution. The SEC did not in ANY WAY resemble the NFL model. It resembled....the last 75 years of SEC play. Like a 3rd world nation where dictators hoard and peasants beg.

Says the conference who added 2 teams with no rivals, and is currently looking to add even more non-rival teams. Who if reports are believed (UNC, UVA), suck at football too. Nice logic.

Most people see that except for Clay Travis. He's the poster boy for "my school isn't very good so I'll hang banners for schools in my conference".
