I like Lady A as well. Just looking over their last handful of singles they've been headed the way of the 4 minute bittersweet ballad as well.
Oh and when I say I don't like "party country" I don't mean to come off like I don't like anything upbeat or fun... that's not the case. Maybe I shoud say I don't like songs I think are stupid and completely shallow that appeal directly to the young girls in the front few rows holding their beers up and spilling half of it on themselves while they WHOOOOOP!!! it up and try not to fall down drunk dancing to the song. Songs like "Country Girl Shake It For Me" by Luke Bryan and the new "Truck Yeah" by Tim McGraw etc etc... there's a million of them.
I just prefer music that actually speaks to me in some way and that doesn't mean it has to be particulary deep or depressing.... although I think we all know depression is where the best music often comes from.
