He is well versed in the WCO, and could at the very least provide some quality competition to which ever QB we draft in April. Competition at the QB position, as we all know, can not be a bad thing.

Plus he is a good mentor for a young QB and a great teammate. Harbaugh has said that hes coaching Kapernick more than anyone right now and has been a class act since being benched. I wouldnt mind having him on staff as long as it doenst cost draft picks as well. Im sorry Campbell lovers, but I would rather have Smith as our backup based on his alst two years and the job he is doing with Kapernick as mentor and teammate.
