It has plenty of power/torque. The only time it bogs down is if I edge when the grass is very wet (or when you use it for the first time and make the first cut). You also have to open up the door to the blade and clean out the grass and dirt every once in a while, much more often when wet, of course.
Yes, the cord is a pain but I've got a heavy duty 100 foot cord on a carrier thing that rolls it back up easily.
