This was pretty much my take as well. The Beastie Boys sounded as good as ever, but the album felt dated and not particularly exciting. That's not really a critique on the album itself, it's just that my musical listening style right now is to get caught up in the current milieu and the direction where things are heading, not to relive the past. I guess I'm saying I'm a trendy bastard.

And by the way: have you listened to the Killer Mike album yet?
