It's called cloud storage, bro, internal HDD is pretty much irrelevant.
And who the **** cares about backwards compatibility? How many original Xbox games are you still playing?
In all honesty, I think you need to inform yourself a little better about this situation instead of looking for reasons to cry and complain.
You're still going to be able to play borrowed games without paying any sort of fees. The fee comes into play if you want to keep playing the game after you return it to your friend but don't feel like going anywhere to buy it.
