Actually, much help was required of the population and the government to make those movies. Work visa laws, personal banking regulations, and tax laws were adjusted to bring in the foreign work force, Many businesses had to delay upgrades in equipment and infrastructure in favor of the computing needs of the fx work. Buses of old ladies were brought in to knit the fake chain mail, a volunteer work force. People moved out of their houses into apartments so the crew could live in the beach houses. Monday Night Football was added to the sports bar satellite feed in downtown Wellington for all the Americans, a great sacrifice, to be sure. They, as a country, took great pride in making those movies happen.
