If his deep schemes aren't there but he has a check down available you want him to force the deep pass just to satisfy the masses and show off his arm? How do you think he kept his Int's down? He made the smarter decision to not force the situation, knowing that they would eventually come up to guard against the dump off and he could bomb it to Austin or Bailey. Alex Smith checks down alot, as did Cassel, but you know something that Geno can do that those other guys can't? Throw the ball 60 yards down the field when the opportunity arises and have some semblance of a deep threat. You want to dock Geno for taking the smart throw? Just drop that shit.
