I mean does it really seem that shocking that a dog that has been popularized as a fighting dog over the past 80 years is commonly bought by a worse class of citizen than a dog bred for retrieving fishing nets and utilized in duck hunting?
Look at the 'specialists' who buy dogs for specific reasons. Wanna-be dog fighters buy pits... duck hunters buy labs.
Families buy both, but one of the above probably encourages more aggressive behavior from the dog than the other. It's really just logic. if your dog is aggressive it was usually TRAINED that way, and people commonly train pits that way intentionally.

If you've never had or been associated with these dogs what makes you an authority?
