They did. It was lame.
I mean, it's a big deal and Ron is a great kid, but really? It just didn't resonate with me. Justin Miller played AAA ball recently and Lance Brittain won the PRCA crown in the early 90s. Not much was made of that, it's just that they didn't say "Scott City I love you" on TV.
Huge turnout at the pep rally, and it hit home for a lot of people, it just didn't resonate with me. I suppose if you are into that type of thing it is neat. Plus it's great that the community is supporting a hometown kid.
But I couldn't be happier for Ron and Wichita State. It doesn't matter how you got there, E8 is a big deal.
