Not really. This might actually turn out to be a lucky break for us. Who knows?
I know the Geno frenzy here requires us to declare Alex Smith the next Matt Cassel, or worse. But I don't subscribe to that. IMO, the price we are paying is fairly steep, but none of us CP posters who have no insight in how NFL business is actually run is qualified to judge that.
My attitude is a wait-and-see one with some relief that it appears we are getting an ascending QB approaching his prime to solidify the position.
