Did you not listen to what Clark said after he fired Pioli? These decisions aren't being made without him.
Anyone who paid any attention at all to the recent history of this team would hear a GM mention "You know, I'm thinking about trading a second round pick for this backup QB and making him into a starter", and would bean that mother****er with a stapler.
