You may actually be treating a symptom (the migraines) instead of the cause.

Migraine triggers (not exclusive):
Reaction to preservatives in processed food
Stress
Lack of sleep
Skipped meals (cause for concern with a juice fast)
(all things you have mentioned)

Pretty much a given, migraines have tend to run in families.

However, highly suspect of triggering migraines, is a reaction to the preservatives (also known as SHIT) in processed foods you say you eat quite often.
Preservatives include sodium. Processed foods typically contain extremely high amounts of sodium. High levels of sodium can cause high blood pressure. High blood pressure can result in headaches. This may very well be the cause of your migraines.

The stress you say you are experiencing can also trigger for migraines (I’m sure this is nothing new to you) and you are locked in to a vicious cycle/circle. Stress equals eating food full of preservatives which (possibly) triggers the migraine, creating more stress. You try to dismiss your stress by eating processed food which causes weight gain. Then you stress about the weight gain and the cycle starts again.

Has your doctor ever suggested or discussed trying a, “migraine cocktail” first? This can sometimes break the chain of migraines. It would be done as an outpatient and takes approx. ˝ hour to infuse.

A reasonable juice fast to rid your body of toxins, recommended and closely monitored by your doctor in conjunction with the “migraine cocktail” may prove very beneficial toward alleviating your migraines.
Changing your diet to exclude ALL processed foods is not an easy task but it sounds like you are committed to getting rid of the migraines and your mindset is half the battle.

Whatever you do please make sure you are closely monitored by a physician. Good luck!
I will have to check into the "migraine cocktail" I have definitely not discussed that with him. My issues are kind of piggybacking off each other. I have had trouble sleeping since high school, I have tried many different things (melatonin, lunesta, ambien etc etc) and havent really found anything that works. One of the side effects to my lack of sleep is migraines. So it's a vicious cycle. I cant sleep so I get migraines, then I have a migraine so I cant sleep. My doctor is trying to take a natural step towards my migraines. I told him at this point I am willing to try it. The crap in processed foods was discussed at length, and he feels that may be a big trigger for me.
