most, if not all of the Geno-types (©) bitched about Orton's abilities before he played for the Chiefs, and I think you agree Orton was tons better than matt cackle, so why not plug Alex Smith in for a few seasons. There are guys on this team that are going to begin losing abilities due as they age -- guys like Tamba & DJ, Colquitt & others.

I don't know if the staff is thinking this way now, but they might be. They could groom Geno for a few seasons too.
I'd rather have Kyle Orton 10 times over Alex Smith
