People always think thats because they were limiting Alex Smith, but thats incorrect. That run first offense with overstacked lines, every running play ever created and multiple TEs is what Harbaugh and Roman ran at Stanford.
Everyone seems to love Kaep these days but he only threw 10 TDs in half a season.
The 49ers simply aren't going to throw the ball 30-40 times a game regardless of who is at QB. Alex was on Pace for 24TDs this season. If you want to look at a similar statline for a run first team....look at Troy Aikmans stats in the early 90's. People say you win in the air these days....but you might want to tell the two teams who went to the SB that.
