Percentage wise it's the smarter play and I think KU's efficiency ratings since Self has been at KU prove it to be a successful strategy. Once in a while you will get burned though if the other team is making an inordinately high number of high percentage shots or you get a guy stepping out and shooting and making them who doesn't traditionally do that (Jordan Egleseder anyone?)

Yep. #1 FG% defense in the country, even after the past couple of weeks. When teams get really hot from outside, sometimes it doesn't even matter if they're guarded. I'd rather take the risk and watch a team
actually rain 3s than watch them constantly burn the defense for layups and dunks.
