It is a lie to imply that we don't. BCs are extensive for automatic weapons, which are highly regulated, VERY difficult to get and expensive ( $20-40k). Background checks for these are very extensive and requires fingerprinting. It takes 6 months to be approved by the ATF. They are also wildly inaccurate from what I've read.
Obama is a liar when he says: "We don't need military rifles on the streets of America." They are not on the streets of America. He is trying to scare people.
The background checks for other guns uses an extensive form with detailed questions on mental health, criminal history etc. This is required by law.
But some people need a poll?
